Nominated for a 2020 Latin Grammy in the «Best Instrumental Album» category as the mastering engineer for Cartografías by Caetano Brasil, Luiz Fernando Costa e Silva (a.k.a. Nando Costa) is a Los Angeles-based music producer, audio engineer and post-production specialist.

A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Berklee College of Music with a degree in Music Production and Engineering, Nando was recognized by the Acoustical Society of America (2009) and Berklee’s Music Production and Engineering Department (2011). After completing his studies in 2012 he returned to Brazil, where he led productions at several major recording studios.

A defining chapter in his career was his work at Versão Acústica, the studio of acclaimed artist Emmerson Nogueira, known for multiple Gold and Platinum certified albums.

Since relocating to Los Angeles in 2019, Nando has expanded into film and television, collaborating on multiple TV series and feature films including The Getback, Play Dirty and Eyes in the Trees, starring Anthony Hopkins.

Nando is also a faculty member at The Los Angeles Film School, where he teaches Audio Engineering. For over six years he has led the engineering team at MIX Recording Studios, shaping the production, mixing and mastering workflows used across the room.
