LEGACY Is Our 420 Friendly Recording Studio Room in Los Angeles

LEGACY is the largest room at UNION Recording Studio, at 5458 Santa Monica Blvd in Los Angeles, and cannabis is welcome while you record. Nobody here is going to give you a look for it, and you will not have to walk out on a take you are in the middle of just to step outside.

One thing to be clear about, so nobody is surprised at the door: LEGACY is 420 friendly for cannabis only. Cigarettes are not part of it. If cigarettes are what you need, say so when you book and we will help you find a room that allows them.

LEGACY books at the same rates whether or not cannabis is part of your session. There is no 420 fee, no cleaning fee, and no premium hour. Regular hourly is $39. The daytime deal is $35 per hour on sessions of four hours or more Monday through Wednesday, or six hours or more on any other day. Night Lockout, which runs midnight to 9 a.m., is $17 per hour Monday through Wednesday and $20 per hour Thursday through Sunday.

Those are the same numbers printed on our pricing page, and they have not moved. If you want someone running the board for you, a Reboost Engineer is $25 per hour on top of the room.

LEGACY is our largest and most versatile space, with room for up to 6 people and a three hour minimum. The hourly rate covers the room, a professional condenser microphone, studio monitors, headphones, and your choice of Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton with a full plugin suite.

The full equipment list is on our gear list page. Every artist who books LEGACY gets that same setup, whether or not cannabis is part of their session.

UNION has three rooms and only LEGACY is 420 friendly. Cosmo and BLK Maze are our compact rooms and they stay non-smoking, which keeps them comfortable for artists who would rather not be around it.

Those two start at $35 per hour, with Night Lockout from $13 per hour Monday through Wednesday. So you can go either way and still be booking at UNION.

Plenty of the people who book LEGACY have never been inside a recording studio before. That is fine, and it is who we built UNION for. Our team sets the room up before you arrive, shows you how everything works, and handles the technical side so you can put your attention on the take.

No experience required, and no question is too basic. Bring your lyrics, a reference track, and whoever you want in the room with you.
