Recording Studio for Rent in Los Angeles
Finding a recording studio for rent in Los Angeles should be simple. Too often it is not. You call around, the hourly rate sounds fair, and then the add-ons pile up: a mandatory engineer fee, a long minimum block, a deposit, an upcharge for evenings. By the time you add it all up, a quick session to lay down vocals costs more than the whole song is worth.
That friction stops a lot of artists before they ever hit record. A beginner who just wants an affordable room to practice in gets quoted a full production package. An independent producer who already runs their own session has to pay for an engineer they do not need. A songwriter with a free night at 1am finds every studio closed. The room is not the problem. The pricing and the rules around it are.
An affordable music studio for rent, priced the honest way
UNION Recording Studio rents three private rooms in Los Angeles by the hour, with the pricing printed plainly and no surprises at checkout. You can rent a room on your own, bring your own engineer, or add one of ours only if you want to. Daytime rooms start at $35 per hour. Overnight rooms start at $13 per hour. The minimum booking is three hours, and the doors are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Because the room and the engineer are separate, you only pay for what you actually use. That is what makes UNION a genuinely budget-friendly place to record in a city where studio time is usually anything but. First-time clients even get their first hour free once minimum session hours are met, so you can try a room before you commit to a project.
Three rooms to rent, each with its own character
COSMO
Space-themed murals and neon artwork make COSMO one of the most visually distinctive rooms in LA. Fits up to 4 people. $35/hr daytime, $13/hr overnight.
BLK MAZE
Geometric LED design and a green-screen vocal booth for artists who film while they record. Fits up to 4 people. $35/hr daytime, $13/hr overnight.
LEGACY
Our largest room, comfortable for up to 6 people and ideal for step-up sessions with an engineer. $39/hr daytime, $15/hr overnight.
What your rental hour includes
Every rented room comes ready to work: acoustically treated walls, a soundproofed vocal booth, industry-standard mics and monitoring, and a comfortable setup for you and your guests. You bring the ideas and the files. If you want a hand behind the board, you can add a Reboost Engineer for $25 per hour or an Advanced Engineer for $30 per hour. If you would rather run the room yourself, that is completely fine, and it costs nothing extra.
Renting hours in bulk saves even more. Our prepaid studio time packages bring the rate down to as low as $25 per hour, and a full package can save you up to $525 against booking one hour at a time. When you are ready to add mixing or mastering to a session, browse our full list of studio services and meet the engineers who can help you finish the record.
